Arthur Adolphus, the first Belizean commissioner of police was laid to rest
at Lord Ridge cemetery this evening after an official funeral service at St.
Ann's Anglican Church in Belmopan.
The 85 year old who served as the nation's top cop in the mid 1960s passed
on Thursday after a prolonged illness.
Adolphus received an official ceremony with a 21-gun salute. Assistant commissioner
of police Maureen Leslie read the eulogy. Also in attendance were Governor General
Sir Colville Young, Minister of Home Affairs Ralph Fonseca, and current police
commissioner Jose Zetina in addition to other members of the PD's top brass.
