Today in Magistrate’s Court Errol Haynes was charged for drug
trafficking, possession of a controlled drug, and possession of a prohibited
sound suppressor, which is a silencer for a handgun. The possession is for 12.7
grammes of cannabis, and the drug trafficking is for 92.1 grammes of crack cocaine.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges but no bail was granted and he was remanded
until June 30th. The arrest is of note because Haynes, known as Butchie, is
a close associate of the notorious Arthur Young. They both got off on a murder
charge in January and since then police have been keeping a close eye on the
pair.
And that eye tells them that Young should be charged in connection
with Haynes for this case. But today Young called Jules Vasquez to say it’s
bogus, that he was nowhere near Haynes when the bust was made. He says the police
are either trying to lock him up or kill him.
Via Phone – Arthur Young,
“I am in hiding because I heard the police have a charge for me for
something I am not involved with.”
Jules Vasquez,
“How are we to know that indeed you are being wrongfully charged, that
indeed the charges are wrongful?”
Via Phone – Arthur Young,
“Well the person Errol Haynes that they arrested, they charged him
and they probably think I am living with him at a house and they found my driver’s
license and Social Security Card and I guess they place me along with him because
from a couple weeks ago I heard that anything they can hold me on, or once anything
that they can link to me, they are going to try railroad me and give me a charge
to send me back to jail. See the police they feel that I am active in the streets
and doing a lot of evil things but I am not. They see me as a mob or something
which I am not.”
Jules Vasquez,
“But you are Arthur Young, you can’t be acting like you are innocent
and stuff in terms of at least you could say you retire from that but it is
hard to say you are not that type of person.”
Via Phone – Arthur Young,
“I am telling you my word as a man I don’t do none of those
things and I am telling the public the same way. I am not saying I am an angel
but I just protect myself and defend myself and for me to do that I stay far
away from people. I am from the streets, they know I have problems with guys
in the past, so many years ago, and I try to stay away from those things. They
know I am from West Street area so the youths that grow up today, they do their
own thing. I am not even active with them.
Police they do not know my whereabouts, they don’t know where I live.
They worry and they try to put out all kind of negative things about me to the
media, to the police force, and tell them all kinds of things. The way I see
it right now, if I meet up to the police, if they meet me in a spot I think
they are going to try to kill me. That is the word they are putting out. The
police force is trying to kill me for ever so long. For what, I don’t
know. This morning I sent the Commissioner of Police Mr. Jeffries and he didn’t
answer me. I called and he didn’t answer me and I’ve been doing
this from several weeks ago to try and meet with somebody in high places.”
And while Young says he was not at the house, Haynes’s attorney
Dickie Bradley says the same thing about his client.
