Arthur Young, Gone Clear Again
posted (January 13, 2011)
Thirty five year old Arthur Young is free of charges tonight….

Back in April of 2010, Young was charged when his friend and long-time associate Errol "Butchie" Haynes was found in a Vista el Mar house with crack cocaine, cannabis, a silencer, another silencer that was being machined in a lathe and dozens of magazines on how to make explosives and weapons.

Young wasn't in the house, but his Social Security Card and Driver's license were - and somehow, police concluded that was enough to bring charges against him.

Young went on the run and famously called the media to say police were trying to kill him. One month after that he was caught in Chetumal at the airport with a fake passport trying to board a flight under the name Edward Roberts.

He was brought back to Belize and charged for drug offences along with the possession of a silencer.

Not surprisingly, he was freed of the charges when they were withdrawn yesterday in the number 2 Magistrate's court.

The charges were withdrawn by the Prosecution on instructions from their legal advisor who established that there wasn't sufficient evidence.

Haynes, however, is still facing charges, and is due to return to court on March 4th.
