And while Anthony is free, another figure closely watched by police, Arthur young was back in court today.
The last time we told you about Young, was eleven days ago when he was cleared of drug offences along with the possession of a silencer.
What we didn't know at the time was that he was allegedly taken into custody the following day, on Friday January 14th. Police are now reporting that Young was informed that he was detained pending investigation of murder, and escaped.
Well that was news to us, but he was caught on Friday the 21st. and formally charged for escape. Young was back in court today and pleaded not guilty to the charge of escape from lawful custody.
Magistrate Albert Hoare of the #5 court offered him a bail of $1,500 and adjourned his case until March 3.
According to the police, after they cautioned Young he ran through the door of the CIB office and escaped.
Police detained Young Friday, January 21 and charged him with escape.
Young said he didn't escape because he was never detained by the police on January 14. He says he went to the police station for his weekly sign in as a deportee, which is when police told him they wanted to see him. He said he ignored them, jumped into his vehicle and left the station.
