34 year old Mike Menjivar is out on bail. He received twenty-five thousand dollars bail from the Supreme Court today when his attorney Arthur Saldivar established that there were special medical reasons why Menjivar needed bail.
The bail hearing continued from last week when the bail petition was first presented to the court. The prosecution represented by Trenia Young objected because the petition did not disclose any special reasons for bail.
Saldivar was granted the unusual adjournment to come up with such reasons, and today, he did, producing affidavits from medical professionals and Menjivar's family.
Menjivar was granted bail of twenty five thousand dollars. Contrary to reports, the DPP, Cheryl Lyn Vidal did not appear in the matter.
Menjivar's home was shot up by the GSU in late May. The police have offered videotaped evidence to say he fired first
Along with his wife and babysitter, they still face multiple counts of attempted murder upon police officers.
