Stuart Leslie is New Elections Boss
posted (September 14, 2005)

He left a high-ranking very well paid diplomatic posting on acrimonious terms, fired by Minister of Foreign Affairs Godfrey Smith. But it seems, in the good old government service, well connected contract officers never go away, they just get re-posted. And that's what happened to Former Ambassador Stuart Leslie who is the new Chief Elections Officer.

The Former Ambassador to the United Nations will officially replace Myrtle Palacio on Friday but he was sworn in this morning at the Elections and Boundaries main office inside the Complex Building on Mahogany Street.

Former Elections Chief Myrtle Palacio is now the Director of the Office of Governance. Palacio's office will responsible for public sector reform initiatives, human and public service management, and overall good governance practices. Myrtle Palacio was the chief elections officer from 1999.
