Actually, There aren’t More Fish In The Sea, There Are Less
posted (June 19, 2023)
Fish Biomass in Belize has been depleted, according to a study conducted by Daniel Pauly, a Canadian Professor of Fisheries who has spent the last year studying the decline of fish populations in Belize.

On Friday he presented his findings to Belize's NGO's and raised the alarm bells on overfishing currently being carried out in Belize's waters.

And what's Pauly's advice to G.O.B.?

Well it's threefold, don't invite Taiwanese trawlers as they stand to destroy fish habitats and threaten tourism.

The Professor also believes that Belize should transition to larger required sizes for first captures and offer incentives to fishers who fish in a more sustainable manner.
