And while those killers were convicted - an alleged double murderer got off today. He is Richard Bennett, accused of the 2021 murder of School Warden, Cynthia Conorquie and Allen Garcia in Belize City.
It was a murder with no eyewitnesses - only circumstantial evidence.
And when Justice Candace Nanton did not allow the oral confession of the accused to be admitted - well, it was pretty much case over. With that, the crown's only video footage of shooting showing Bennett creeping up on the scene was not enough for the judge to rule in their favor. So, when Bennet's attorney made a no case submission, it was upheld and the accused was acquitted and free to go.
