Three Illegal Loggers Arraigned In Court

Three of five men accused of illegal logging in the Monkey Bay Natural Monument back in January of this year were arraigned today on four Forestry offenses.

42-year-old Tyrell Banner, 19-year-old Kaylon Gabourel, and 41-year-old David Morales Sandoval were jointly charged with unlawful cutting of forest produce, unlawful possession of forest produce, unlawful conversion of Mahogany using chain saw, and unlawful collection of forestry produced.

The men pleaded not guilty and were offered bail of $8,000 dollars.

The case was adjourned for July 10th.

When the Senior Magistrate questioned why the other two men did not appear, the representative from the Forestry Department informed her that the fourth defendant was involved in a traffic accident yesterday and the fifth was out of the country seeking medical attention.

The three who were arraigned were able to meet bail.
