The say started with Hotchandani. He is the landowner who on November fourth scored with the approval of some major land purchases for properties later bought up by Portico.
He opened up with a statement saying he was just acting as a private businessman:

"I'm not a beneficial owner or director of Portico Enterprise Limited, which is now public knowledge, is a party to the definitive agreement. I was not involved in the formulation, negotiation, or drafting of the definitive agreement, nor am I able to assist this committee with any information as to how the definitive agreement was formulated, negotiated, or drafted."
"As such, my testimony on those matters are unnecessary in addition to being outside of the range of the matters this committee has empowered to investigate."
