Cops Suspended For Sealy's Death, PM Says That's Not Enough
posted (May 20, 2025)
Last night you heard the police staff officer say that the San Pedro police officers involved in the detention leading to the death of 23 year old Selvin Sealey would be placed on immediate suspension.

Well, the Prime Minister says he expects much more than that:

John Briceno, Prime Minister
"I know the family, I know them very well and some of them are close friends of mine and so my heart was out to the family and it's something that has to be look into very very closely and if there's anybody that was that created or caused the death of this young man, then they must be charged to the fullest extent of the law."

The post mortem examination on Sealey concluded that it was a case of homicide - caused by restraint asphyxia - meaning he was physically restrained in a way that restricted his ability to breathe.
