posted (May 28, 2025)
After Haylock, Caribbean Shores rep Kareem Musa stood up to give his speech, but started off by taking shots at the UDP. He pointed out that their deputy leader hadn't bothered to show up for three days of debates. He then rebutted Haylock's criticisms about the Transport Ministry.

Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs & New Growth Industries
"The member for Queens Square. The member for Cayo West is here. Welcome, member for Cayo West. We're excited to have you with us this morning. But he's here today. So I congratulate him on that. I hope that your deputy leader, your deputy leader of the opposition will show face, because that's a major disservice to the people of Corozal North who just recently elected him. He needs to come to this honorable house and serve his people. When you don't appear, when you don't appear to represent your people, not just one, not just two, but three days, it goes to show that what the people think of the UDP might just be true. It is all about themselves and this power grab. They want to get back into power so badly they don't even care about representing the people. So I'm glad, Member for Cayo West, that you have showed up here today. The member for Queens Square also spoke on the transport industry, which is a topic that he is extremely familiar with. And one, he failed to acknowledge the point that his administration allowed the bus industry to get completely out of hand over the 13 years that their administration had carriage of that transport industry. That is why we are in the problems we are today, how many bus operators we have right now, 31 bus operators. What you heard yesterday, member for Queen square, and I heard you somewhat endorsing the plan of the member for Dangriga. And then you started to actually put forward proposals that he himself said yesterday on both the mobile ticketing and the enforcement team. These are all part of the plan. And you said you're going to attend on Friday. I hope that you do, and I hope that you contribute because it is an excellent plan to bring back the transport industry in this country that you all ruined."
