Mother Laments Son's Death In Motorcycle Fatality
posted (June 3, 2025)
Tonight you'll hear from the mother grieving her son who was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday night on San Andres Street in Orange Walk Town. The victim, 43 year old Steve Bell was on the back of a motorcycle, being driven by his girlfriend when they were hit not too far from his mother's home. His mom says she had just come in from church and decided to relax a while on the veranda when she heard the collision.

Voice of: Shirley Bell, Mother of Deceased
"Yes I was outside on the veranda when I heard this vehicle coming under heavy speed. So I said, "man who is driving so hard" when I heard the knock, the impact. I looked up and said man someone got hurt but I saw something shine and go like that and I didn't know it was a motorcycle right and I saw when it brakes the person went up in the air and dropped so I said man who got hurt and a young man who was passing said mammy it's Steve got knocked down and then I was conscious it was my son and when me and my nephew and grandson ran out there he took his last breath and he was broken up bad."

"He was no trouble man he doesn't give any trouble, he goes fishing, any time you want to find him you go to the river side in his little dory you'll find him, if he isn't fishing when it's iguana season he is out trying to catch iguanas or bocotora to sell because he says he doesn't want anyone to be his boss, he is his own boss, he goes fishing and things like that."

As we told you last night, Heidi Chan, who was driving the vehicle, was served with an NIP.
