Another jet with deportees arrived on Thursday. This time though, there was no media scenery, no fanfare, just 15 Belizeans coming back home after being caught up in the Trump administration sweep of undocumented immigrants. Here's what the police press officer told us about it:
ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer
"Yes we can confirm that a flight came in with approximately 13 individuals. One compliance letter was issued. The other persons were not issued a compliance letter."
"This is the letter that is provided for and under the summary jurisdiction offences, which requires the deported person to sign in station that is convenient to their address for a period, as stated in the letter."
"As a follow up to the previous flight where Mr Jody Rhamdas was detained. Mr Rhamdas is currently at the Kolbe foundation on the strength of the commitment warrant as a consequence of a matter that he had before the court and he is spending applications for bail revocation as the conditions in relation to that bail included the fact that you should have signed in, and he ought not to have left the jurisdiction."
