A 22-year-old British student currently residing on Caye Caulker has reported being raped in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to police, the woman visited the Caye Caulker Police Station on Tuesday afternoon to report that on the night of Monday, June 9th, she had been out socializing and drinking with friends at a village nightclub. After returning to her room at Tropical Oasis around 2:00 a.m., she went to bed - and while she was asleep, she says an unknown male allegedly entered her room and raped her.
A medical examination has been conducted and confirmed that the woman was carnally known. The investigation is ongoing.
