Transport Ministry Still Investigating Bus That Caught On Fire
posted (June 17, 2025)
Last Tuesday, we told you about the Central Transit bus that caught on fire while heading to Belize City from Ladyville. At the time, the Transport CEO, Chester Williams, said that they were aware of the matter and would be looking into it. Today the Minister explained that they're still investigating that as well as some other problematic bus routes.

Dr Louis Zabaneh, Minister of Transport
"Our CEO is working on a lot of the issues that are occurring, if you call it, in different hotspots so that, we know that the Ladyville/Belize City route is an area that needs a lot more improvement in terms of the quality of the buses, the scheduling, etc. so that's one area. The Orange Walk area is another hotspot that we're working with them as well to try to rationalize some of these things because while we're working on the national bus company, there are certain things that we have to address in the meantime and we're working on those as well."
