Randolph Gibson Survived Arnold's Attack
posted (September 12, 2006)
This afternoon, 28-year-old Randolph Gibson, who barely survived the vicious knife attack, spoke to us form his hospital bed. He told us that he had just met the family two days ago and he was there to cut the yard and fix a weed whacker. But when he went into the house for a friendly talk on Friday night, little did he know that he would be caught in an orgy of violence. He told us how he managed to stay alive and why his friend died.

Randolph Gibson, Victim
"The only thing that hurts me bad is because I heard this is all about a jealously thing and the lady could be my mother and I don't know what is going on with this man but this man, I heard he is also 'nut in the head' and they said he was drinking which I didn't know because it moved too fast. All I know is he took about fifteen minutes to come in the house and go outside and by the time he came back in, he inflicted the wound that caught me in my heart and the only thing I could have done is swerve away his hand and when I swerved away his hand, the knife caught me behind my neck and when it caught me is because I went straight through the screen door. I was sitting right beside the screened door, a chair is right behind the screened door.

I didn't expect anything because I did nothing wrong and when he did me that, it is like my life, I felt my life just went away from me and I asked God to help me because I have four children to live for and I don't want them to punish. I could say now I regret going there."

Alfonso Noble,
What about the young man, you just knew him for a couple days.

Randolph Gibson,
"I knew him for two days so I want to know what's going on; just for a couple days. So I want to know what type of situation this guy has against me and he just got to know me.

When I escaped from him his stepson saved me and his stepson ended up getting murdered because of saving me so all I got to tell the public is to be on my side and to help me through my struggle and my parents' through this trouble because I have a big bill to pay BEST that I borrowed a loan from that I do yard cutting and I need to pay back BEST their loan and I hope BEST are hearing me because they know that I need to pay back my loan every Thursday and see where I am at, in the hospital.

So I got to tell the public is to please pray for me and to help out my family in whatever way so that they could pay back my loan so that when I get better I could thank them and praise God for everything."

Today Arthur Arnold appeared in Belize City Magistrate's Court where he was remanded on a charge of murder for Jermaine Arnold, and attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm for Randolph Gibson.
