Jackie Malic's Family Wants Freedom From Fear
posted (November 29, 2007)
Yesterday when the police report came out with the report of 20 year old Adelma Malic who had gone missing - it didn't seem too remarkable. Unless you know Adelma Malic and her family's troubled, tormented history. And Jacqueline Godwin does: Adelma is the sister of Jackie Fern Malic, one of the 5 girls killed in the child murders of 1999 and 2000. The good news is that Adelma has returned home, but the bad news is that this family which has already suffered so great a loss now has another tormentor. Here's more.

Fabiana Scott, Aunt of Jackie Malic
"It is hard, it is hard what I am going through now, it is really hard because I am going through a lot of things right now especially like with when this guy here come by and trying to threaten me, come to my house like and we can't even rest at our home."

Almost seven years after fifty six year old Fabiana Scott's twelve year old niece Jackie Malic was kidnapped, sexually molested, and stabbed to death, the young victim's aunt once again fears for her family's life. Fabiana says the problem started after her twenty year old niece left what she describes an abusive relationship and came back home. Since then Scott says the man has been stalking their home and threatening them.

Fabiana Scott,
"The police they do come by and they try to tell him to go away but he did not. A couple minutes later he came by the house and rap on the door but nobody did not answer the door we did not even get up, all we did was stay by the window and look and when he ready he just went away. He threatened my life because he said that whenever he sees me, he is going to knock me down and I told him I am not afraid."

Scott says the family has filed a complaint with police and they are now getting a restraining order. But the experience has re-awakened painful memories that continue to haunt the family.

Fabiana Scott,
"That's always pondering in my head because actually sometimes, actually sometimes I hear her crying out for help, I actually hear Jackie crying out for help and when I look through the window I said oh God."

Jackie Fern Malic was one of five little girls who were brutally murdered between 1998 and 2000. Her body was found on a feeder road off the western highway - and like the others it was face down in a puddle of water. Today, their killer or killers remain at large.

Fabiana Scott,
"The five little girls, they are our angels because I am personally sure that Jackie was my angel."

Since Jackie's murder, Scott has become very protective of her younger sibling who has suffered emotionally since her sister was killed. Now, all this family wants is freedom from fear.

Fabiana Scott,
"All I want is peace, peace all I want is peace because I am a peaceful person and you know I am in a lot of little organizations so I just want to be in peace and want this guy to just stop interfering with us here and want this guy to stop interfering with us here and leave our family alone."

Two years ago Scott suffered a heart attack but she says she remains optimistic that while the murder trail may have gone cold the family has not given up hope that one day the children's killer will be found.

Fabiana Scott,
"I am positively sure that one day the killer will be found. Me, Fabian is definitely sure you trust me because I pray a lot and I ask the Lord please show us the way, show us the way and let the person come out."

Despite a financial reward of ten thousand dollars and numerous publicity campaigns the police still have no leads on the case and the mystery of the girl killings remains unsolved.

The victims of the child murders are: Jackie Fern Malic, Sherilee Nicholas, Erica Wills, Jay Blades and Noemi Hernandez. If you have any information on the any of the child murders call the nearest police station or crime stoppers at 0-800-922-8477.
