This morning at 8:05 in Belize City, shots rang out on Kut Avenue - which is on the city's southside. Police on motorbikes responded with lightning quickness and ran down 24 year old Reese Fitzgibbon on Fairweather Street. He is of a Supal Street address which is just a short distance from Kut Avenue.
Not only did police catch Fitzgibbon and manage to subdue him face down on the pavement, they also got his gun - a 9 millimeter smith and Wesson pistol - which you can see on the sidewalk right beside him. The pistol had five live rounds. Fitzgibbon is detained pending charges of discharging a Firearm In Public and Kept a Firearm and Ammunition without a license.
