Supt. Edward Broaster Says Chester Williams Threatened Him
posted (March 12, 2008)

Senior Superintendent Chester Williams is leaving Eastern Division to take up his new assignment behind a desk in Belmopan. But before leaving, reports say he gave professional adversary, Superintendent Edward Broaster a piece of his mind. Broaster has confirmed to 7NEWS that he filed a complaint at the CIB alleging that Williams threatened him. Best reports to 7NEWS are that the pair were among many other senior police at an officers conference yesterday morning when Williams lashed out on Broaster.

Williams accused Broaster of fabricating evidence against him and of paying people to do the same. And then, Broaster claims, Williams threatened him directly, telling him, “you do not know what I am capable of.” When we spoke to Williams today he said he didn’t threaten anyone. And while that issue hangs, the bigger question is, what’s all the shouting about? Well, as we’ve reported police are investigating the discovery of human remains off the Coastal Highway a week ago.

An informer has reportedly told investigators that the person was killed by a police death squad. Williams told police rank and file yesterday that Broaster is trying to implicate him as being somehow involved with that – an involvement which he denies absolutely and claims is a complete farce.
