New Belize Bank Boss
posted (February 11, 2009)

Earlier we told you that the Belize Bank has to pay $5.7 million to the Government of Belize by tomorrow. And while it is still Bank President Phil Johnson’s problem, it really rests with his boss, newly named Chairman of the Belize Bank Lyndon Guiseppi. A release today explains that Guiseppi – the former managing director of the RBTT Merchant Bank in Trinidad and Tobago takes over with immediate effect. There is also a new Deputy Chairman, Dr. Euric Bobb – a former Governor of Trinidad and Tobago’s Central Bank.

Another new appointment to the board is Belizean Geraldine Davis – Young the former director of the Financial Intelligence Unit. As a non executive director, she will be in charge of audit and compliance matters. The move is seen as part of the strategy to enhance its profile in the Caribbean as it moves the center of its interests from Belize.
