Try to make them grow up and be something good, something positive in life. I think they will learn a lot of stuff. I will help them; I will help nurture them to try reach somewhere so that at least some of them have dreams and thing. Like I tell them, it is never impossible, just try hard, be what you could be. Impossible is nothing like they say.”

“We have a passion for the sport and the youths and we are putting it into action. Kids out of school, their minds are idle as we would say but for us to occupy their mind, we arrange this football club just for them to have an activity to do to stay out of trouble and keep their minds active.”

Michelle Tillett, Volunteer
“The mission is just to keep these kids active where they don’t have to do idle things. Give these kids a chance. Here we are just trying to be mentors for these children, just simply giving them a chance.”

Ian Gaynair,
“It is free because in my days it was hard for me too.”

Keith Swift,
“Why football?”

Ian Gaynair,
“Well actually the area that we are in, that is what is around here. We don’t have no basketball court. They already have a summer camp at Civic where all the guys that want to play basketball go and we have a field and this is where I grew up.”

Sherria Jones,
“We would like some sponsors because all the funding in regards to water, uniforms, and food because after these games and stuff they go to our house and we feed them and give them a snack beverage and things of the sort and these kids are very eager, they are excited about this club and about the activities so that is why we would like to keep it up for the entire summer.”

40 children are participating in the camp. Anyone interested in contributing or joining the camp can contact Ian at 667-7835.
