And we leave tonight with a look back at the 1998 Belize basketball team that
won gold in the CARICOM games. The event was played in Belize at the City centre
and a team of stellar Belizean players did the unthinkable: they won the first
major basketball tournament for Belize on our own soil. Indeed, it was magic
and we lave you tonight with a look back at those golden boys and the on court
magic. Four members of that team: Keith Acosta, Clinton Fuller, Milt Palacio
and Alex Carcamo are on the team that heads for CANCUN on Sunday.
They’re going up against a tougher field than the CARICOM boys but we
wish them the best. 7News will have a news team in
CANCUN and we’ll have daily reports form Keith Swift and analysis from
Clinton Pulu Lightburn who’ll be in CANCUN. Tune in for that, but right
