A Dangriga business was robbed of a large quantity of cash over the weekend.
Yesterday afternoon, 58 year old Chinese Businessman Xineng Chen was inside
the Maya Island Air terminal waiting for a flight when three men entered –
and held him up at gunpoint. They must have known he was carrying cash because
they robbed him of a package containing twenty thousand Belize dollars.
And for those of you who haven’t been there, we should note that the
Dangriga airstrip is a ways outside the center of town in a not too populated
area – and not the kind of place that you’d expect three criminals
to be randomly roaming. Police have not reported any arrests.
