Teens Charged for Shooting Mark Lord
posted (October 30, 2009)

The shooting of Mark Lord on Sunday has generated a fair deal of criticism for the police department – which is accused of first, depositing him on George Street, deliberately in harm’s way, and then, second, ignoring him when he went to the police station after being shot five times.

The Police senior command says it is conducting an investigation, but in the meantime two teenagers accused of shooting him have been charged.

They are 18 year old Lloyd Eligio and a 15 year old minor both of them students of Tuba Vocational School in Ladyville. Eligio was charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm, and use of deadly means of harm. He and the minor were charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Bail was denied, so Eligio was remanded to prison and while the 15 year old went to the Youth Hostel.

Despite being shot 5 times, Lord is recovering form his injuries.
