There was an early afternoon robbery in downtown Belize City today. The target
was Belize Logistics Services on Albert Street. Around 1:30 – the gunman
entered the locked office door behind a messenger. The messenger conducted his
business and left and that’s when a second robber appeared.
He stood watch outside while the robber who was already in the office - pulled
out his gun. He held up the receptionist and stomped open the door to her office.
Once in there he raided the cash drawer and then he exited the store. No employee
was hurt but they were traumatized. A getaway car was waiting nearby and both
men fled in it.
We aren’t sure how much was stolen but office employees say it’s
not much since they don’t handle large amounts of cash.
