Father Observed Post Mortem on His Dead Newborn
posted (November 9, 2009)

On Thursday we told you about the tragic death of a newborn at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. His parents Judith Moody and Rudy Faber told us that on Saturday October 31st they welcomed their newborn baby boy and took him home on November 1st. But less than two days later on Tuesday of last week they rushed their child back to the hospital with breathing problems. Their newborn died early on Thursday morning. Doctors told the parents it was from a blood infection but just to make sure – the KHMH is investigating. As part of that investigation – a post mortem was conducted this afternoon. We spoke to Rudy Faber outside the city morgue.

Rudy Faber, Father of Dead Newborn
“The doctor said that they will do their best to find out what killed my child but what we really want is justice. I just really want to know what killed the child and Dr. Bulwer says that he is going to take a sample and he will take the heart in person and check the heart of the child. So I just want to find out the truth and I will be satisfied.

I just leave it in the hands of the most high, I will let God take care of everything. If it proves that he died from a natural cause then I guess we will have to live with it.”

“And in the eventuality that you and your wife decide to have another child, would you come back to the KHMH?”

Rudy Faber,
“No absolutely not. My aim is when I go back on my job I am going to go get a life insurance policy at Guardian for me and my wife.”

Samples were taken from the baby and those will be sent for testing.

And there are reports from Cayo that another newborn died over the weekend. The report is that a mother experienced a difficult child-birth and when the baby came out it was blue – an indication of oxygen deprivation. About an hour later when they were told their baby was dead. We are told that the parents Robert and Rosy Garcia have filed a complaint.
