Victim Of The Jaguar
posted (May 26, 2010)
And while Jagaur has been holding things down, a Belize City working man Malic Martinez yesterday told us - it held him in lockdown for no reason. Martinez who works at a local cable company said he couldn't get to work yesterday because he was arbitrarily locked down on Sunday night when he was on his way to pick up his son. He says it happened on Antelope street.

Malic Martinez, victimized by police
"The officer approaches me and said 'put up your hand', I said boss sure, I put up my hand, and then he said 'put down your hand'. He told me that about 5 times to put my hands up and down, then he leaned me on the vehicle and hand cuff me. I ask him why you are doing me that for? He asks me for my name and I gave it to him. He then searched me for like 15 times over and over and he didn't find anything. I told him to let me go because he didn't have anything on me. The officer said that he didn't want to hear that. The officer called for the mobile and instructed them to take me in. Three days I was lock up for."

"Everyone as you know professes their innocence, but you are sure you didn't have anything on you."

Malic Martinez
"Nothing."

Jules Vasquez
"Are you involved with any gang?"

Malic Martinez
"I don't have time to deal with that. I have my kid and I have a job. I don't have time to deal with gang bang. I am not on those levels. I don't want anyone to chance me out of my life."

Martinez says he is loathe to go to the Internal Affairs department because he went there 6 months ago for another complaint of needless abuse and the case went nowhere...
