posted (June 7, 2010)
Earlier on we told you about a pair of police who had been charged for a quite elaborate theft conspiracy. Another was also charged but this is of a domestic nature. 19 year old police constable Dennis Carr who allegedly beat his common-law-wife and stole her cell phone, has been charged with theft, aggravated assault and harm. Carr was arraigned when he appeared today in Magistrate's Court. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie offered him a bail of two thousand five hundred dollars and adjourned his case until August 25th. Carr's ex common-law-wife 34 year old Leonora Rhaburn reported to police that Carr became upset with her because she handed two rounds of 38 ammunition, 2 rounds of 9 millimeter ammunition and a hand held radio over to the police. He has not been charged for the theft of those items. Rhaburn said that on May 24th Carr stole her Sprint cell phone valued at six hundred and seventy two dollars. She said that on May 28th Carr attacked her with a hammer and on May 31 he struck on her hand with a concrete block and choked her. Rhaburn was examined by a doctor who classified the injury to her hand as harm.
