The Belize City San Ignacio ride to bring awareness to the plight of and possibilities for physically challenged Belizeans was completed today in record time. It is a feat which stunned those in the cycling profession and surprised the wits out of the two young men who pedalled the 74 miles for the cause. Jerome Flores and Adrian Camara celebrated their sterling performance this morning after timekeepers clocked their final leg of the two day ride, at exactly One Hour and Forty Five minutes.
The two men had planned on completing the Belmopan to San Ignacio leg in under two and a half hours. In a telephone conversation with Seven News, Flores said the climbing of the infamous Mount Hope was in itself one of their greatest and memorable achievements. Flores and Camera are so pleased with their performance that they intend on making the ride an annual event.
