Man Survives Shot To Neck
posted (June 14, 2010)
The weekend started out inauspiciously with a shooting on South Street. Around 8:15pm, 39 year old Harrison Staine, who police describe as a mental patient was walking not far from his home on Wagner's Lane when a lone gun man walked up to him and fired three shots. He was shot to the neck and jaw and his brother Steven Staine who is a paramedic says it is a miracle he survived because luckily he was only grazed.

Steven Staine, Brother of Shooting Victim
"According to him, he had just left home and went to the shop when someone sneak up behind him and shot him in the neck twice."

Monica Bodden
"At this time does he know who the person was?"

Steven Staine
"He has no idea; he didn't see who it was because it was from behind. All he felt was the burning and he remembered going to the ground. I ask him why? if he know who was it. None of the above."

Monica Bodden
"Would you consider your brother lucky to be alive today?"

Steven Staine
"Not just lucky, extremely lucky. He needs to thank the good Lord above. That type of injury and no major or vital organs got damage, that's a miracle. Trust me. If you go and do your own investigation and you talk to people within the neighborhood you will find that he doesn't give trouble, he minds his own business basically. Most people would say that is the normal cry that they don't hang out, they don't mess with gangs but you do your own homework and you will find out that he is not that type of person. It is still bothering me about why him. I guess somebody must be angry and just saw him and they know that he live in the area; South Street, it is also known as Jump Street area and they just shot him."

Staine is in stable condition.
