Two 18 Year Old’s Sentenced for Armed Robbery

Two teenagers were convicted of robbery and sentenced to prison time today in Magistrate's Court. 18 year old Kyle Chaplin and 18 year old Jamal Neal received the minimum sentence from Magistrate Sharon Fraser because neither had prior convictions.

They were convicted for the robbery of BTL technician Ronald Dominguez, which occurred around 3 pm on September 3rd of 2009. Dominguez testified that he was working on Vernon St. when he was approached by the two teenagers, one carrying a gun and the other a knife. They made off with a gold chain, gold bracelet, gold ring, and 90$. Both Neal and Chaplin gave alibi testimonies. Neal said he was at his aunt's house and Chaplin said he was playing card games with his family. The magistrate wasn't convinced and she found them guilty. They were sentenced to five years each.
