It happened sometime between last night and this morning. Branch manager Ismelda Waight discovered the theft when she got to work at 7:35 this morning. The thieves got in through the main entrance by prying open the burglar bars and then jimmy-ing the glass door.

The thieves knew what they were after when they stole the combination safe. It had only 413 dollars in cash along with loads of blank cheques, purchase order books, fuel order books and what appear to be internal records.

No one at Social Security Board Headquarters could provide comment on what were the relevance of the stolen items or what will be done to neutralize the possibility of hundreds of stolen bank cheques and purchase orders being used for fraudulent purposes.
