Armed Men Storm National Transport Office
posted (September 29, 2010)
And while that violent crime ended in murder - no one was hurt in an armed robbery last night that was executed with ruthless efficiency.

It happened at National Transport headquarters at mile two and three quarters on the western highway. It is a place that has been targeted before by armed robbers - and at that time, the security video was widely broadcast.

But that seemed not to matter to a gang of armed men who stormed into the compound last night. Monica Bodden reviewed the security tapes:…

"Things seemed to be going as per normal last night for the cashiers at the Novelo's Office at Mile 2 ½ on the Western Highway.

But that was until this unwelcomed trio stormed into the office - holding employees at gunpoint. The young men - all barefooted and wearing masks- ordered the employee's to get on the floor. One of the robbers who was armed with a gun - proceeded behind the cashiers desk.

The 3 employees lay on the floor helpless. The robbers began filling this black bag with items on and behind the desk. One even stopped to take a peek through the window - while the other two continued.

In the end they seemed to have packed up a number of items - including a laptop computer - and an undisclosed amount of cash.

One of the robber's seemed to have wanted to stay a little longer - but he was dragged by one of his partners in crime to the escape door.

They left through the same door they entered."

So far police have no one detained.

In the last armed robbery in January of 2009 - which was also caught on camera, 22 year old Justin Maclaren was acquitted of the charge.

At that time, it was reported that as much as twenty thousand dollars was stolen.
