Twenty one year old Thiffara Waight, who was charged with aggravated assault upon another woman with a firearm, was freed of the charge when it was dismissed today in the Number 6 Magistrate's court for want of prosecution. Magistrate Dorothy Flowers struck out the case when the complainant, Bernadette Eqwuatu failed to appear.

The incident occurred around 4:30 P.M. on Thursday, February 4th of this year. Eqwuatu who resides on Fairweather street, reported to police that she had a misunderstanding with her neighbor Waight who pulled a 9 millimeter pistol, pointed it at her and threatened to shoot her in front of her two kids.

Eqwuatu said she feared for her life so she ran inside and called the police. When the police arrived, they searched Waight's house and found a licensed 9 millimeter pistol with 42 rounds owned by Waight's common-law husband.
