Stevens Freed Of Murder Charge
posted (October 19, 2010)
Twenty one year old Kareem Stevens, one of three men charged with the murder of Nigerian National Kaluru Ogunlududu, was freed of the charge today in the #1 Magistrate's Court.

Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie withdrew the charge on a directive from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Cheryl Lyn Vidal. It was due to insufficient evidence.

But the charge still stands against the other two accused persons, 25 year old Jamal Jackson and 23 year old Daniel Myvett. Ogunlududu, who was a security at Biltmore Plaza Hotel, was fatally stabbed in the early morning of February 15, 2010 while he was in the security booth at the hotel.

Apparently his assailants wanted to rob the hotel and were prevented by Ogunlududu. Jackson and Myvett were employed at the hotel at the time. Jackson was a steward and Myvette was a security guard.
