Two Guns In the Hands Of Outlaws

On Friday night we told you about the ambush and robbery of former UDP Minister Edwardo Dito Juan. It happened on Thursday afternoon in the Georgeville area of the Cayo District at the entrance to Juan's farm.

Today the slow moving police press office has released details and it shows that the well-known Cayo resident was taken for plenty.

According to police the two men who beat him with sticks stole his chrome nine millimeter Smith & Wesson pistol loaded with ten rounds and his wallet with just over a thousand dollars in cash.

A gun was also stolen in Belize City from a security guard. On Friday afternoon at 1:00, Franz Gregorio who works for Fort Point Security Services, was returning form lunch to his post at Bowen and Bowen on King Street when he was held up at the intersection of Berkley and Albert Streets by two men wearing masks. One of them held a gun to his head, while the other relieved him of his 9 millimeter pistol loaded with ten live rounds.
