Twenty eight year old Leonard "Ghost" Meyers and his girlfriend, 39 year old Carla Humes, became the Belize Central Prison's newest members today after they appeared in court and were charged with keeping a prohibited firearm, keeping prohibited material, keeping ammunition without a gun license and possession of a controlled drug. They both pleaded not guilty to the charges and were denied bail due to the firearm and ammunition offences. The charges arose from a search the police made at a home on Plues Street around 5:40 am on Sunday, November 28th. The police reported that the search resulted in the discovery of a sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun, 7 live 12 gauge cartridges, an extended clip, and 2 grams of cannabis. They were both remanded into custody until December 30th.
