Police have formally arrested and charged a seventeen year old minor for the murder of Nigerian taxi driver Francis Chukwu which occurred on Sunday 26th December.
Chukwu was found dead that Sunday morning on Pitta Street in the Collet Area just before 3:00 am.
He was last seen by his family around 11 on Christmas night when he went out to pick up a few Christmas night runs.
The next day his car was found crashed into a fence and he was huddled over the steering wheel with a gunshot wound to the top of the head.
Interestingly, there were no signs that he had been robbed - and the appearance is that the minor - who he had picked up at a local night spot - killed him for no reason.
Chukwu was the single father of three boys and had been in Belize for 8 years. He was well known in the Pen Road area where he lived and was killed…..
