As the Christmas season draws to a close - wild acts of violence persist. We have two incidents of gunplay to report, fortunately no one was hurt in any of them. This afternoon in the city, shots were fired on Mopan Street, but no one was hit.
And then, yesterday in extreme Western Belize on the Arenal Road Ubildo Howe, a taxi driver of Benque Viejo was driving when about a mile away from the border village, two masked men appeared out of the bushes. Howe said that he kept on driving when one of the men who was armed with what looked like a 9mm pistol fired about four shots and one caught his rear light. Howe sped off without injury.
