Yesterday the women of the PUP marched over to the office of the National Women's Commission looking to ambush Executive Director Anne Marie Williams.
Well today her office issued a formal response describing what it calls the 'Guardian's Gall' in publishing what it denounces as 'dis-tasteful and unacceptable', the front page photograph of Gina Tillett, the PUP's Head of the Cayo Women's Group, which appeared in the Sunday, March 20th issue.
The Women's Issues Network of Belize issued its own press release today condemning what it calls the 'the tasteless, pointless, and glaring photograph of Miss Tillett published in the Guardian' which it says was used simply for cheap political gain, without consideration for the harm, the publication of the image would cause the victim. The release went on to further state that as a result, all 14 member agencies and their staffs of WIN-Belize have chosen to boycott the Guardian newspaper until further notice.
