Venerable Centenarian Passes
posted (April 11, 2011)
St. John's Cathedral will be very full again this Thursday when the funeral is held for an outstanding Belizean, Carlton Fairweather who died at the age of 100 on Saturday night in Belize City.

As we showed you last year, Fairweather had served in World War 2 in the Forestry unit in Scotland as part of the West Indies Regiment.

He worked at the public works department when he returned home and was known as Phillip Goldson's dear friend later in his life -serving as the national hero's eyes, when his vision failed.

Carlton Fairweather was also known to have ridden in the very first Cross Country. And while he reached the prodigious age of 100 years and 7 months, he was outdone by his older brother, who lived to 102.
