posted (May 6, 2011)
And Mango tree marauders are just one aspect of rampant crime in the city - and this Sunday a lone crusader embarking on a Walk to Heal the nation is calling out to the churches, schools and politicians to join her in the walk for peace.

Assistant Superintendent of Police, Diane Hall says the march will make its way thru the principal streets of Belize city and you're welcomed to join.

ACP Diane Hall
"We are having this healing walk where I have invited the churches and different organizations to come together as one body to pray for the healing of this nation."

Monica Bodden
"Tell us a little bit about the route."

ACP Diane Hall
"The walk will commence from North Front Street, it will proceed contrary to traffic over the Belchina Bridge into Vernon Street, Central American Boulevard, Fabers Road, over the Yabra Bridge, Yabra road, into Regent Street West where it will end off at Battlefield Park."

Monica Bodden "Now for those who might have miss the first news story that you did with us. What is the purpose of the walk?"

ACP Diane Hall
"Ok, well you know that there is a lot of crime right now and we have been doing a lot to try and solve these crimes situation and like I mention the last time - the Lord spoke to me and ask me to come and inform the nation to get the churches to come together as one body to pray for the healing of this nation, so that is what I did and I am trying to get churches together. I think the churches need to put religion aside and come together for it is one God we serve and I want to appeal to the leaders of this country and the other law enforcement agencies to come and join us on this day and also the schools. I know in the past that they use to come out and march for peace but this is taking it to a higher level, it not just getting out there with a placard and you are fed up with the crime situation. This is going to God for his divine intervention in this nation. "

Once again, the walk will get underway at 2 this Sunday, and the staging point will be North Front Street.
