Beaten By Cops; Man Charged For Att. Murder
posted (August 2, 2011)
Two months ago in this newscast you saw the battered faces of Clive Lino and Patrick Menzies - Belize City men who claimed they were both victims of police vigilantes. The police - they explained were trying to settle a score for another cop who Menzies knocked down after a parking lot brawl he and Lino had with those same cops.

Menzies said it was an accident: that he was angry and was simply intended to scare the police officer; but instead he knocked down and badly damaged PC Delwyn Casimiro.

Well tonight Twenty-six year old Menzies is in jail on remand after he was charged with 2 counts of Attempted Murder when he appeared today in the #1 Magistrate court. Menzies was also charged with 2 counts of Use of Deadly Means of Harm, Wounding and harm. No plea was taken because the offenses are indictable.

Neither could the court offer him bail because of the nature of the offenses. Menzies was remanded to prison until September 1st. Police Constable Darwin Casimiro and Natasha James reported that Menzies tried to knock them down with his Geo Prizm.
