Man Who Struck Middleton Remanded For Manslaughter
posted (August 2, 2011)
Last night we told you about the death of Kevin Middleton - who was struck in the head on Thursday. Well today, Twenty eight year old Marlon Woods, a vendor working in the Tourism Village, was charged with Manslaughter for causing his death.

No plea was taken because the offence is indictable. The prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that bail should not be granted in the first instance because of the nature of the offence and the severity of the punishment if the defendant is found guilty and if granted bail he could hamper the investigation. Woods' only response was that he was not guilty.

Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie upheld the objection and remanded Woods into custody until August 9th. The incident occurred on Thursday July 28th on Barrack Road. According to reports, Middleton was slapped and when he fell he struck his head on the pavement - he died form that injury yesterday morning at 1:00 am.
