Gunshots In the City, No Serious Injury
posted (September 1, 2011)
And so while we all mull over that unprecedented joint press release from the gangs - last night gunshots rang out in the city again. Luckily no one was seriously hurt, but on Victoria Street a female was grazed and her children's lives were endangered when shots were fired.

At about 7:00 pm, Tifanny Cadle was walking on Victoria Street along with her boyfriend Kevin Jex and her two sons. When she reached Name Brand Store on Victoria Street, someone fired several shots from behind them, grazing her ankle. Police have the name of one suspect.

And then at 8:00 last night, 48 year old FRANCINE COLEMAN was standing on her veranda on curassow street when she heard gunshots zinging past her from the direction of nearby Morrison Alley. Coleman found an apparent bullet hole and slug in her bathroom wall. This happened just a street away from the Raccoon Street police station and the initial report was that someone was shooting at the station.

And then also last night, police received a report that someone was trying to rob a public bus on Faber's Road. Police responded and locked down the area at the corner of Caesar's ridge and Faber's Road - residents called us to say that the officers were beating the men on the ground. When we got there police had covered the area with all units responding blocked our view with headlights - and no further official information has been forthcoming.
