Poultry industry: Your Chicken’s Safe From Fowl Typhoid

In a move aimed at staving off the effects of any possible repercussions generated from last week's announcement byBAHA, that fowl typhoid has once again reared its ugly head in the industry, the Belize Poultry Association issued its own release today.

The press release states that in light of the recent fowl typhoid outbreak, "there's no danger in consuming chicken meat and eggs." The release emphasized the strict controls and containment efforts that have been put in place by baha, and reminds the public that "fowl typhoid is a bacterial disease that does not pose a food safety hazard." the release goes on to say that BAHA has stepped up inspection of chicken meat and eggs to provide further assurance of the wholesomeness and safety of the products. The outbreak of the disease has been restricted so far to the orange walk district.
