"His sisters and the extended Price family thank the Nation for its continued prayers and support. Messages of condolence can be sent through the George Price Centre at email address info@gpcbelize.com." The UDP was the first organization to issue a statement:

It says: "we are saddened by his death…but we join un commemorating his great achievements for the Nation of Belize…." A statement was also issued by the government which says "the timing of his death served to reinforce in all our minds and hears his lasting achievement in the creation of the nation state called Belize."

A statement from the Prime Minister adds that a diplomatic note was sent out this morning to inform the world of his passing. The government release states that an official period of mourning begins now and flags will be flown at half-mast right through to September 26th with the exception of Independence Day."

Statements have also been sent out by the teachers union, The university of Belize, St. John's college, Galen University, the Mexican embassy and others. We will post them all.
