Burglars Busted; Trove Of Household Items Recovered
posted (November 10, 2011)
Two men and a woman accused of cleaning out a Belize City home have been charged for burglary.

The appeared yesterday in the #4 Magistrate's Court where 39 year old Christopher McKoy, 46 year old Evan Gardiner and 28 year old Patricia Gardiner were charged with burglary and handling stolen goods. They pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that the crimes have become prevalent and that the evidence suggests that there is a strong case against the accused, and that they are being investigated for other burglaries in Belize City. Magistrate Roberto Ordonez upheld the objection and remanded them.

They are accused of burglarizing the home of 68 year old retired nursing officer Julia Castillo. The stolen items amounted to a total value of $12,515 dollars and included a Washing Machine and dryer, a Stove, a refrigerator, a Mahogany Cabinet and many other items.

They were recovered at a home at 29 Far West Street in Belize City - which is the Gardiner's residence.
