Coming Out For Arson Victim Young C
posted (December 8, 2011)
And while he didn't tell his story on "Profiles", musical entertainer "Young C" did have his breakthrough moment this weekend when friends and fellow travelers from the entertainment community came together to hold a benefit concert for him. No, Young C isn't sick, but he was a recent victim of arson when his home was burned down on the 19th of November. The talented producer and singer - seen in the music video Destination Belize along with artist such as Berne and Orson Picart -His family of 9, lost everything in the fire.

And so with the help of a number of his musical colleagues - Belizean Urban Music Association and his record label 'Determined to Hustle', they managed to put off a show out at the BTL park- one that not even the rain could have stopped - he told us about it today:..

Young C, Artist
"The people really came out and support, the rain kind of threw it off but the people still came out. People were standing in the rain, the artists came out. The amount of artists that came out - we couldn't even handle everybody. I still think it was a success after all beside the rains."

Monica Bodden
"Just to name a few of the artists who were out there?"

Young C, Artist
"Supa G, Nello Player, Blakberry, Kenny Morgan, 357, Reckless, New Rebels and the list goes on and on. Everybody came out to perform free."

Monica Bodden
"You guys raise the amount that you wanted or?"

Young C, Artist
"Not really, but we made something around $3,000.00 after we pay bills and stuff, like tents, bathrooms and stuff."

Monica Bodden
"So to benefit you and your family, you guys gained $3,000.00?"

Young C, Artist
"Roughly around $3,000.00."

He says he will be using the money to help my building materials and household accessories.
